What will you learn?

By the end of the training, you will have acquired knowledge of basic principles in programming and will have solved tasks.

The idea of Jumpstart is to understand firsthand what programmers actually do and whether you like it. It also prepares you for the next modules of our mentorship program – in the Unlock Java module, you will study the Java language in depth, and in the third module, Java Mastery Projects, we will focus on practice and writing many projects to fully prepare you for the start of your career as a programmer. We will assist you in meeting with suitable companies after completing the third module of our mentorship program.

You’re in the right place. Our mentorship program from 0 to IT career comprises 3 modules:

  • Introductory Java Jumpstart: This module allows you to explore if programming resonates with you. It spans 1 month.
  • Basic Unlock Java: Over 8 weeks, you’ll delve deep into the Java language, building upon the robust foundation from Jumpstart.
  • Core Java Mastery Projects: A 6-month journey where you’ll predominantly focus on project development, mastering the extensive Java Spring BOOT framework, and acquiring additional technologies necessary to launch your dream career as a Java programmer.

Upon completing the third module of the program, we’ll connect you with suitable companies to kickstart your career as a Junior. The Java Jumpstart module will provide you with a comprehensive insight into the world of programming. You’ll ascertain if it resonates with you and if it aligns with your aspirations. This will enable you to make an informed decision about continuing your development in this direction, as we’ll provide you with a firsthand view of what it’s like “behind the scenes”.

How to maximize the benefits from the training?

Dedicate time at least 3-4 times a week.

Watch the videos, solve the tasks and tests included in the training. This way, you’ll make progress and know how you’re doing.

Once a week, the group will meet for a Q&A session with the Lecturer on Zoom. These meetings are highly recommended. Ask questions in the Slack group if something is unclear. There, you’ll receive support from our team – professionals with years of experience.

The academy funds the course for people seeking a career in the IT sphere, so we expect you to be committed and to take seriously the opportunity to change your life.

How will the training proceed?

The module encompasses video lessons, supplementary materials covering theory, tasks, and tests. You’ll have the flexibility to study at your convenience, whether during or outside of working hours. Furthermore, you’ll engage with tasks and tests according to your schedule. Access to the training materials lasts for 45 calendar days after enrollment. Throughout the training, you’ll have access to a Slack group where you can interact with experienced programmers for guidance and assistance.

Is prior knowledge required?

No, prior knowledge in the field is not necessary. The training is designed to provide you with the foundational knowledge in an ideal environment with focused support. Through the program, you’ll determine whether programming aligns with your interests and whether pursuing it further to establish it as your profession is worthwhile.

The module is specially designed for complete beginners who want to start a career in the IT sector. It is suitable for people with zero experience who want to get acquainted with programming. Java Jumpstart is the first step of Code Academy’s specialized mentorship program with the Java language.

To start working as a Junior Developer, you need to successfully complete our entire mentorship program, which includes 3 modules: Java Jumpstart, Unlock Java, and Java Mastery Projects. After completing this module, you will be fully prepared to start working as a Junior programmer, and we will connect you with companies to realize your potential.

Yes, after completing the Java Jumpstart module, you will have the opportunity to download your electronic certificate for a fee of 80 BGN.

Once a week, you will have a meeting with the Lecturer on Zoom. You will be in contact with our entire team and receive guidance and support in the module’s Slack group.

If you decide that programming is not your thing, you are not obligated to continue with the next steps of the program.

Daniela has over 6 years of experience as a programmer with various technologies in diverse projects, including installers, replication servers, and cloud services. In recent years, she has been developing Cloud Services using Java and Spring. Daniela loves to teach because it gives her the opportunity, by sharing her knowledge and experience, to help her students start a successful IT career.

Dimitar is a programmer with many years of practice and experience in developing communication systems, software, and databases. He started his career at the Institute of Computer and Communication Systems at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He has participated in international and Bulgarian projects and has conducted exercises at the Technical University of Sofia. He has been involved in the development of billing systems, fiscal devices, VoIP, digital television, pharmacy and warehouse software, games, and many others. Dimitar uses C, C++, Python, Perl, JavaScript, HTML, PHP, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL, Delphi. Dimitar is a fountain of technical knowledge. He will support you during the time allocated for self-study, whenever you have a question or a situation you’re not sure how to approach.

Katya has extensive experience in organizing and conducting business training for skills and training trainers. She is a specialist in communication, teamwork, management, and sales. Katya will provide you with valuable guidance on how best to present your work, how to organize and prioritize your tasks, and how to communicate with colleagues effortlessly. Stela is a coach with over fifteen years of experience in training and developing personnel at various hierarchical levels. She specializes in training for the formation and improvement of communication skills and team development. With her assistance, you will master the ability to communicate effectively with management and colleagues and ask the right questions. These skills will be extremely beneficial when you embark on your journey as a programmer. Stela is certified as a coach for group psychodynamic training.
Alexander has over 20 years of experience in information technology. He has successfully completed more than 25 projects based on Java, JavaScript, SQL, Pl/SQL, and Python technologies. Currently, he works as a consultant in Quality Assurance and Information Security for leading financial institutions in Europe. Anastas is a programmer with over thirty years of practice. He has participated in the development of many projects for telecoms, financial institutions, games, and other business systems. Valentin has earned the affection of students with his genuine style and clear teaching approach.

Elena is a programmer with almost seven years of professional experience. She completed her higher education at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski,” specializing in “Information Systems” and earning a Bachelor’s degree. During her studies, Elena served as an assistant lecturer for over a year in Programming Fundamentals & OOP in C++. Vanya is a mentor in our program. She has been working as a programmer for three years with Java + Spring, Golang, TypeScript + Angular. Vanya will always be there for you to help you successfully deal with the bugs in the code you write.

Nadezhda is one of the babies of Code Academy. She is a graduate of one of our first groups and now she is already a mid-level developer with 4 years of experience as a programmer. Her technologies are Java and Spring. She loves folk dances and is generally a very artistic person. Nadezhda will guide you through the Jumpstart module and will be your mentor in the advanced modules. She will make sure that you learn to write quality code, adhere to conventions, and you will always see her by your side – with a wide smile.
